CMS rims

CMS is a Turkish rim manufacturer, the history of which dates back to 1055. The starting point in this particular year was the foundation of the first aluminium casting foundry in Turkey. 25 years later, in 1980, the company began manufacturing alloy wheels for automotive manufacturers, and, 5 years later, first supplied these to Fiat and Ford. With CMS having initially directed its operations exclusively from Turkey, in 1997 the subsidiary CMS Automotive Trading GmbH was founded in Frankfurt (Germany), with the company thus entering the European retrofit market. Today, the corporate group, which has a production capacity of more than 10 million wheels per year, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of aluminium wheels for the automotive and utility vehicle industry (OEM), and also for the retrofit market. Core brand values, such as consistent OEM quality, the highest level of competence for continuously increasing automotive performance, trust and a spirit of innovation have characterised the history and development of CMS ever since its foundation.

High-quality production

CMS is known primarily as a highly technological and innovative company. In order to live up to its reputation, the company makes use of ultra-modern production facilities for the production of its rims, all of which comply with the guidelines required of German premium manufacturers, and it continually updates this equipment in line with the state of the art. Working in close collaboration with the automotive industry, CMS fulfils the highest of quality requirements, from tool engineering through to shipping. Right from the development of the design, which takes place within the company's own premises, modern and professional software programs align design requirements with technical requirements. Close collaboration with automotive manufacturers guarantees that CMS wheels are always in keeping with the times and observe current trends. During further production, the rims undergo various procedures that guarantee high quality. The low-pressure casting process, for example, guarantees a high quality with regard to the material thickness and concentricity properties, by ensuring the even distribution of the aluminium. The X-ray and leak tests contribute to the detection of surface defects or a loss of air pressure. In addition to these processes, the Flow-Forming process contributes to reducing the weight of the rims by sealing and strengthening the material, thus saving on material. The artificial ageing of the wheels also ensures even greater strength and durability, and thus contributes to weight reduction and material conservation. High quality standards are of course also taken into account towards the end of the production process, during the painting of the rims. With the most cutting edge coating equipment, both technically and environmentally, the rims are coated in accordance with the guidelines of premium German vehicle manufacturers. The paints used are environmentally friendly and comply with EU regulations. Finally, a visual inspection ensures a flawless surface quality.

As a general rule, CMS is very mindful of the environment. Not only in terms of the lacquers it uses, but also throughout the entire production process. CMS manufactures according to international environmental guidelines and is certified in accordance with Environmental and Energy Management Systems (ISO4001 and ISO 50001).

The rims within the CMS range all hold ABE certification, and a large number also have ECE (Economic Commission for Europe) approval. The large product portfolio includes around 20 different models, of which many are available in different double-spoke variants. This includes, for example, the CMS C22, which really makes an impression with its elegant lines, the very sturdy and sporty CMS C27 and the CMS C28. However, fans of other styles and designs will not be left wanting. For instance, Y-spoke wheels and cross-spoke wheels such as the CMS C25 are also included within the portfolio.
