Description
Potenza Sport EVO with Enliten technology
Building on the multi-award winning Potenza Sport, the Potenza Sport EVO with Enliten technology delivers further improved sportiness, more control in wet conditions, higher mileage and optimised Fuel and energy efficiency.
The Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO offers outstanding control at Height with more directional stability both on the straights and in corners. The tyre also has excellent Wet grip. Compared to the multi-award-winning Potenza Sport, braking distance is reduced by five per cent on wet roads and two per cent on dry roads[1].
These performance improvements go hand in hand with significantly improved mileage: the Potenza Sport EVO offers 15 per cent more mileage than its predecessor[1], which equates to around 6,000 additional kilometres[2]. At the same time, the tyre improves Fuel efficiency and increases the range of electric vehicles thanks to a reduction in rolling resistance of up to six percent[3].
The all-round enhanced performance of the Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO is made possible by the integration of Enliten technology - a next-generation technology that is revolutionising how Bridgestone develops Tyres. Enliten is based on a deep understanding of customer needs and enables customised, uncompromising Power with improved sustainability properties. Thanks to Enliten, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO is also fully prepared for use on electric vehicles and fulfils the special requirements of both e-models and vehicles with combustion engines.
In the Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO, the integration of Enliten has led to various advances in the rubber compound and tyre design.
The tyre has a particularly stiff tread compound that improves stability in corners and at high speeds. This is complemented by a specially developed construction with hybrid belt reinforcement, a stiffer carcass and a sporty tread pattern with an asymmetrical tread wall angle. In this combination, the Potenza Sport EVO offers Height control even at high speeds.
The new, specially developed rubber compound with optimised inorganic fillers, together with the precisely engineered tread design consisting of ribs and grooves, forms the ideal basis for excellent Wet grip. In addition, an optimised polymer content with improved polymer-filler interaction is used, which increases abrasion resistance and further improves mileage.
Notes:
[1] Based on internal tests with the Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO compared to the Bridgestone Potenza Sport, reference size 235/35 ZR19.
[2] Actual mileage of Tyres depends on several factors such as driving style, asphalt characteristics and environmental conditions.
[3] Based on internal tests conducted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO and Bridgestone Potenza Sport, reference size 245/35 R18.
Manufacturer information
EU Tyre Label
The Tyre Labelling Regulation determines the information that must be provided with regard to tyres' fuel efficiency, wet grip and external rolling noise. Information is also provided on the product's performance in wintery driving conditions.
Regulation EU 1222/2009, which has been in force since 01/11/2012, has been revised and will be replaced from 1 May 2021 by Regulation EU 2020/740, from which point new standards will apply. The assessment categories for fuel efficiency, wet grip and external noise have been changed and the layout of the EU label has been changed accordingly. The manufacturers' product data sheets, stored in the EU database, can be downloaded via a QR code integrated into the label. It also includes information on snow grip and ice grip for tyres that meet these criteria.
The following tyres are exempt from the regulation:
- Tyres designed to be fitted only to vehicles registered for the first time before 1 October 1990
- Remoulded tyres (until Regulation EU 2020/740 has been widened accordingly)
- Professional off-road tyres
- Racing tyres
- Tyres with additional devices to improve traction, e.g. studded tyres
- Temporary-use spare tyres (T-type tyres)
- Tyres with a speed rating below 80 km/h
- Tyres with a nominal rim diameter of 254 mm or less and 635 mm or more
