Models such as the BYD Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal or the large SUV Tang combine modern technology, long range and advanced design. In these vehicles, wheels play an important role - both for aerodynamic efficiency and for the sporty, elegant vehicle look.

Original BYD rims

BYD offers a selection of original rims for all models, which are specially tailored to the technical requirements of electric vehicles. Thanks to their special design, they ensure optimised aerodynamics, low weight and high stability - all important aspects for increasing range and driving dynamics. The rims are also adapted to large recuperation brakes and the increased centre of gravity of the vehicle due to the battery units.

Typical colour and surface variants of the original BYD rims are:

• Silver painted - classic and functional

• Glossy or matt black - sporty and high-contrast, often for performance variants

• Graphite or anthracite - modern and technical

• Bi-colour rims with polished surfaces - visually striking and high-quality

Many BYD rims have an aerodynamically closed design or turbine look, which reduces air resistance and thus contributes directly to range optimisation.

Aluminium rims from other well-known manufacturers for BYD vehicles

In addition to the factory rims, many BYD models can also be fitted with aluminium rims from well-known third-party suppliers, provided they meet the technical requirements such as load capacity and clearance.

Suitable manufacturers for BYD vehicles are:

These accessory rims are available in variants such as matt, high-sheen, polished or multi-coloured painted and usually come with ABE or ECE approval.

Common inch sizes and offsets of BYD rims

The inch sizes on BYD vehicles vary depending on the model and vehicle class:

• 16 inch to 17 inch rims: for compact models such as BYD Dolphin

• 17-inch to 19-inch rims: for Atto 3 and comparable crossovers

• 19-inch to 21-inch rims: for larger vehicles such as Seal or Tang

The offset depths (ET) are usually between ET 35 and ET 55, depending on the model and rim width. Rims with a lower offset ensure a wider track and a sportier look, but must be checked with regard to wheel arch clearance and approval.
