Hankook iON i*cept IW01 245/35 R21 96V
Technical specifications
Description
Designed for better performance in winter
Double advantage:
The iON i*cept pushes the limits of what's possible to deliver optimal performance. The iON i*cept was developed specifically for electric vehicles, but also offers the best of both worlds.
Minimized tread noise:
The V-shaped pattern of the iON i*cept distributes road noise by alternately shifting the inner and outer blocks when they come into contact with the road, which also provides additional traction on snow.
Tire noise can be drastically reduced by optimizing the pitch sequence. The iON i*cept has optimized the number and size of pitches so that we can hear the important things better.
Minimized cavity noise:
The knurling technology used inside the grooves of the iON i*cept effectively reduces rolling noise during contact with the road by narrowing the air path without compromising the intended effect of the grooves.
Further reduced rolling resistance:
The iON i*cept achieves decent LRR performance through the use of an advanced compound and Hankook Tire's optimized vulcanization technology, which improves all aspects of the tire equally.
The aerodynamic profile of the iON i*cept reduces air and rolling resistance as well as driving noise.
Improved cornering stability:
Improved tire stiffness is essential to support the weight of electric vehicles. Hankook's EV contour technology increases cornering stiffness by 7%, optimizing the handling characteristics of electric vehicles.
Improved traction on snow:
The sipes on the iON i*cept improve braking performance and traction on snow. The precise sipe angles can significantly improve safety on snow-covered roads.
Superior handling on winter roads:
The stiffness of the tread has been optimized with 2D sipes in the center and 3D sipes in the surrounding blocks. As a result, the iON i*cept offers outstanding handling on all winter roads.
Improved performance on snow, reduced rolling resistance:
The EVolution rubber compound consists of highly concentrated silica and environmentally friendly materials. It offers good mileage and further reduced rolling resistance without compromising performance on snow.
Improved wet grip:
Water pipe grooves are incorporated into the shoulder blocks to divert water away from the main groove, maximizing grip on wet roads.
Manufacturer information
EU Tyre Label
The Tyre Labelling Regulation determines the information that must be provided with regard to tyres' fuel efficiency, wet grip and external rolling noise. Information is also provided on the product's performance in wintery driving conditions.
Regulation EU 1222/2009, which has been in force since 01/11/2012, has been revised and will be replaced from 1 May 2021 by Regulation EU 2020/740, from which point new standards will apply. The assessment categories for fuel efficiency, wet grip and external noise have been changed and the layout of the EU label has been changed accordingly. The manufacturers' product data sheets, stored in the EU database, can be downloaded via a QR code integrated into the label. It also includes information on snow grip and ice grip for tyres that meet these criteria.
The following tyres are exempt from the regulation:
- Tyres designed to be fitted only to vehicles registered for the first time before 1 October 1990
- Remoulded tyres (until Regulation EU 2020/740 has been widened accordingly)
- Professional off-road tyres
- Racing tyres
- Tyres with additional devices to improve traction, e.g. studded tyres
- Temporary-use spare tyres (T-type tyres)
- Tyres with a speed rating below 80 km/h
- Tyres with a nominal rim diameter of 254 mm or less and 635 mm or more
