Dunlop Geomax MX54 – takes you further
The Geomax MX54: the next step in Motocross power on medium-to-hard terrain. Building on the proven foundation of the Geomax MX53 and incorporating improvements from the Geomax MX34, the MX54 has been developed to deliver optimised power across a wider range of track conditions, with a focus on consistency, control and durability as the terrain changes from medium to hard.
The MX54 has been developed for the conditions in which most riders compete, bridging the gap between stability on soft to medium terrain and that on hard terrain. The result is a tyre that performs at a high level under changing track conditions, offering a predictable ride feel from morning dampness through to hard surfaces in the late afternoon.
At the heart of the MX54 rear tyre is a tread pattern derived directly from the Dunlop Geomax Factory Spec tyre, offering improved drive grip, enhanced slip control and increased traction during acceleration. This proven design allows riders to maximise forward drive whilst maintaining confidence in demanding conditions.
The MX54 front tyre features an all-new tread pattern designed to improve steering precision, cornering stability and braking performance. By refining the block layout and optimising lug stiffness, Dunlop has created a front tyre that offers more consistent feedback and improved directional stability, particularly when tracks become smooth and hard-packed.
Optimised for medium-duty terrain with enhanced power on hard-packed surfaces, giving riders confidence as tracks dry out and develop.
The revised tread pattern increases the contact patch for improved power on hard surfaces, whilst maintaining grip in medium-duty conditions.
Multiple Block Distribution (MBD) improves ground feel and predictability under load for a better riding experience and greater control.
Progressive Cornering Block Technology (PCBT Advanced) improves cornering grip, slip control and traction on hard surfaces.
A continuous centre groove on the front tyre improves braking grip and ensures stable, predictable handling in changing track conditions.
The high-load rubber compound (*selected rear tyre sizes) improves traction, durability and performance longevity under heavy loads.
A block height approximately 5% higher on the rear tyre improves traction and durability under demanding conditions.
Balanced power under race conditions, including traction, cornering grip, durability and predictability from start to finish.
Dunlop’s patented ‘Progressive Cornering Block Technology Advanced’ is used to improve flexibility and increase the number of gripping edges. This results in improved grip, better compliance and more predictable handling across a variety of terrain conditions.
A Motocross tyre for medium to hard terrain, designed to deliver long-lasting power in the conditions riders most commonly encounter.
In addition to improvements in tread design, the MX54 features a revised compound and carcass construction to improve durability and maintain power throughout longer races. The improved wear resistance ensures that riders experience consistent power throughout the tyre’s lifespan, even under abrasive track conditions.
