Safety jackets offer safety that saves lives

A safety jacket is mandatory equipment for every vehicle. According to § 53a of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO), at least one safety jacket must be carried per Passenger car, Truck or Bus in Germany - it is mandatory for all commercially registered vehicles anyway. In many European countries, the following even applies: A vest must be provided for each person travelling in the vehicle.

The function of the safety jacket

It ensures that you are clearly visible from a great distance in the event of a breakdown, accident or emergency stop at the side of the road - during the day and especially in the dark or in bad weather. Reflective stripes and the eye-catching colour significantly increase your visibility in headlights and reduce the risk of serious secondary accidents.

How to use the safety jacket correctly

Store the vest in the interior of your vehicle - for example in the glove compartment, under the seat or in the door pocket. If an emergency situation arises, put the vest on before leaving the vehicle. This means you are visible from the very first moment - particularly important on motorways or country roads with heavy traffic.
