Alpina Rims - Overview

Exclusive Design and technical precision

Alpina stands for a very special combination of luxury, performance and understatement. As an exclusive automobile manufacturer based on BMW, Alpina develops independent vehicles such as the Alpina B3, D3 S, B5, B7 or the SUV XD3. In addition to performance-optimised engines, high-quality interiors and subtle body tuning, the Rims play a central role in the overall picture. They combine a sporty, elegant look with technical functionality - and have become an Alpina trademark.

Original Alpina Rims

The classic original Alpina Rims are instantly recognisable: the multi-spoke design with 20 filigree spokes, framed by a highly polished outer ring, is emblematic of the Brand's DNA. These Rims are not only aesthetically unique, but also manufactured to a high technical standard. They are characterised by low weight, high stability and a precise fit. They are also specially adapted to the respective Alpina vehicles - taking into account the chassis, braking system and axle loads.

Typical colour variants for original Alpina Rims are:

Classic silver - for the traditional look in retro style
Anthracite or graphite - for a sporty, modern look
Glossy black - for understated elegance and strong contrasts

The Alpina logo in the rim cover and the valve in the centre of the rim are further unmistakable design features.

Alloy rims from other manufacturers for Alloy rims

As Alpina models are generally based on BMW technology, many accessory rims for BMW vehicles are also compatible with Alpina - provided they fulfil the technical requirements. Some renowned rim manufacturers therefore offer high-quality Alloy rims that are compatible with Alpina models.

These include, among others:

OZ Racing - sporty, lightweight forged rims for optimised performance

Ronal - high-quality classics with BMW/Alpina-compatible dimensions
AEZ - modern design with clear lines for discreet individualisation

These Rims are available in matt, high-sheen, polished or multi-coloured paint and usually come with ABE or ECE approval. Nevertheless, it is always advisable to check the load capacity, clearance and visual harmony of Alpina vehicles.

Common inch sizes and offsets of Alpina Rims

The Inch sizes and offsets (ET) of Alpina wheels depend on the model and the desired driving characteristics. Frequently used sizes are:

19 inch to 20 inch Rims: for Limousines such as B3, D3 S, B5 or D5 S
21 inch Rims: for larger models such as B7 or XD4
22 inch Rims: occasionally on new SUV generations or show vehicles

Offsets vary depending on the model between ET 20 and ET 40, depending on Rim width, chassis set-up and wheel arch geometry. Specific Alpina vehicles also use different Rim widths on the front and Rear axle (staggered fitment) to optimise traction and appearance.
